By no means am I afraid to admit this made me start to shed some tears. I thought the reaction people were giving her was pretty rude. It was beyond pleasant to see her prove them all wrong.

Found this group last night by accident… and I’m glad I did

Went dancing with my wife tonight and I had a surprising good time. I learned a little cha cha, swing, and a few other things. Basically the idea is to find the beat of the music within you and just learn some simple steps. Then gradually build up.

The teacher broke things down for us barney style by just having us all step side to side in sync. Basically just what you do when you walk. Then we added music and did it to a beat, then we learned some steps.

The message to take away was that music is in all of us you just need to listen and make things simple first. Then build up to the harder stuff. Hopefully I will have more to report next week.

Reader Ted introduced me to Randy Newman and I really enjoy what I’ve heard so far. Not only are the lyrics insightful, witty, and well thought, but the music is well produced. The piano, and sometimes instrumentals, behind the lyrics are themselves enough to listen to without any lyrics.

Somebody else apparently likes Randy too as the video below was created a fan using the song “God’s Song”. enjoy!

I’m not sure about the no cry part as this kid is at least twice as young as me about 1000 times better at the guitar. I love the most recent comment on the video:

This version is much better than the original and is some damn impressive guitar playing. But then again I’m not that great myself…  :mrgreen:
