So besides moving and starting a new job, I am also getting married. As if my life wasn’t crazy enough
.
The wedding is this weekend on the 14th and I’m really getting excited and looking forward to it. I plan to attempt to get some pictures up when I can, but for now posting may be light.
Love you baby, can’t wait till Saturday

How do you heal a wounded party and a shrinking voter base that wanted Hilary all in one swoop. You say this at the end or your speech in Raleigh North Carolina:
“By the way, I’m going to be partnering with Elizabeth Edwards, we’re going to be figuring all this out.”
WOW!

Three jobs before my current one, back in 03, I had to leave my job to finish a 4 year degree at a University (the one I work for now and have went to school at). On my way out a close coworker of mine said to me, “Now don’t you become a ghost around here.” I told him with strong intentions, “I don’t plan to.”
How many times did I go back and visit over the years? Less than 10, probably more around 7 or 8 though. Was this intentional? No. And I do miss those people a lot. But I guess I’m just moving on and with that comes new friends, new events, and missed opportunities to hang with those from the past.
Jump forward to now. I am going to be starting a new corporate job in about 2 weeks. When I passed along this news a couple months ago to my current boss he sent me a VERY nice email about how he will miss me and truly miss the skills I brought with me to this job.
He also said something that has still stuck with me, “I am not looking forward to the loss of the personal relationship I hope we have developed.” I replied back to his message and told him I have no intentions of dropping my personal relationship with anyone in the office. Which I firmly stand by.
But now I wonder, is it possible to not lose or at least have a diminished relationship with someone you work with and move away from? My boss and I are close, as is all my coworkers, but the only person I have hung out with outside of work is DOF. So I can’t help but think about and worry what will happen with my relationship with my boss and other coworkers.
It’s the only thing I regret about taking this job. But I know it’s important for my long term career and for my fiance (soon to be wife) and I. I need something with a little more permanence right now so I can build up some savings and get ready for other future things.
So I do look forward to what’s ahead, but I will miss the present.

Want to synchronize your Mozilla profiles? The directions are pretty straight forward, for Linux you will want to do the same thing essentially, but your folder names and location of those folders will be different. For instance Linux does not have “Documents and Settings”, it has “/home”.
So my setup:
Vista on C:
XP on E:
I want XP on E: to be primary profile location with Vista on C: to snyc to E:
You may want to stop and think a minutre here how you want to configure your setup…
Anyways, now we can start. First we need to copy the profile.ini file from the location the profile will be snyc’d to. In my case I go to XP on E:
E:\Documents and Settings\Devil\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox
Copy the “profile.ini” file by using CTRL+C or drag and drop. Then paste to:
C:\Users\Devil\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox
Now open the file in a text editor. And make the following changes (below is what my finished file look like):
[Profile0]
Name=default
IsRelative=0
Path=E:\Documents and Settings\jgwebe2\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xl5cg5nh.default
Default=1
[Profile1]
Name=Guest
IsRelative=0
Path=E:\Documents and Settings\Yogi\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\Guest
Make sure you set “IsRelative” to 0 as above. Also, the easiest way to get your profile name and full path is to use My Computer and browse all the way to your location, like I did on XP. Then copy and past the location from the address bar.
Then save the file. And you are done.
As a side note, I did this while reading the directions from Mozilla Firefox, while in Vista. Once I was done I closed down Firefox and reopened it. All was well and it was snycing with the Firefox on XP.
Directions adapted from this very useful HowTo…

So what’s Scott deal?
As I’m sure you’ve all heard, Scott came out this last week with a book, What Happened. And he’s on the Daily Show tonight with Jon Stewart. So my question above?
Well he was on the show and he wouldn’t admit that the Bush Administration did their thing with intent. He kept saying it was the culture of Washington DC. What a bunch a BS! The Bush Administration sat around a table and decided to go to war under false pretenses. Jon Stewart asks, “Where is the evidence that the culture affected these decisions?”
Scott has no answer and he couldn’t concede. To Scott the Bush Administration just can’t do anything wrong it seems. “It’s not their fault, these are good people. The culture affected them.” As Jon asked, show me the evidence. Richard Clarke mentioned in his book how since day one for Bush it was Iraq and how they can get to war.
It wasn’t an ideology developed by evidence. It was evidence that only support the ideology. A dangerous mixutre.
For all the things bad you can say about Scott, he did admit some wrongs on the show, and likely his book (I haven’t read it yet). He did state how he said things about Richard Clarke that weren’t true when he hadn’t even read Richard’s book. He seemed like it was possible he felt remorse, but he did work for Bush.
Let’s just say the jury aint out yet for me. But I do plan to read that book.

Dean Kamen, , has invented a wicked cool robot arm (video below). From a Wired Blog post.
Kamen’s arm, dubbed “Luke” (after Skywalker, I assume), is an incredibly sophisticated bit of engineering that’s lightyears ahead of the clamping “claws” that many amputees are forced to use today. The arm is fully articulated, giving the user the same degrees of movement as a natural arm, and is sensitive enough to pick up a piece of paper, a wineglass or even a grape without mishap.
Maybe Stephen Hawking could make use of this technology.
