Webs’ Random Ideas

I am a currently a Graduate student at a mid-western State University. I guess you could describe me as a socialist with some conservative ideals, but mostly liberal. I believe health care should be free for everyone, or as Dave Chappelle suggests, “Fake Canadian ID cards for all Americans.” I think more money should be spent on social programs such as health care, education, and others. I think less money should be spent on the military, or at least they should be forced to be more efficient with their funds.

I firmly think we should have a Department of Peace, that has a cabinet level member in the White House that would act as a Secretary of Peace. I also think that political fundraising should come from tax dollars, or at least a large percent, that way politicians would have less constituents that they need to “help out” later, once they get elected. That and we really only have a two party system where only the rich can be elected. That doesn’t really sound like much of a democracy.

I believe in conservation and protecting the environment that gives us life. I believe firmly in technology and what it can do for us, but I also believe strongly in socially responsible technology.

I believe firmly in education and its importance. I think Math and Science education should be taken seriously, as I fear our society is drifting down a dangerous path. I also think our education system needs an entire overhaul from textbooks to funding. The whole system is an example of one big failure.

I have taken and passed the A+ certification and have attempted others. I was a few questions awat from passing the CCNA . I now have a job working and teaching in the IT field, both are at the University I have been a student at for 3 years (2 years as an undergrad, 1 year as a grad student).

I recently got engaged and plan on getting married Summer 2008 to my beautiful fiance. We both are very excited and I am looking forward to the wedding. We don’t know yet what our honeymoon will be, but are thinking about doing a European vacation.
