Random News Time
Well the Science Friday post is in the works and will be ready to go… on Friday. Yes I know it seems like a first for me. It will feel nice to be back on track though.
Other news:
Toyota unveils Plug-in Prius…
Announcing the official plug-in Prius based on the most popular hybrid vehicle to date, Toyota said it would test the fuel-saving vehicle on public roads — an industry first and as Collin notes the cause of much hubub in our Forums. While renegades such as Cal Cars have been retrofiting out-of-box Priuses with plug-in technology for some time and Google recently took up the PHEV cause using the Prius as a guinea pig, we have to say that while it’s been fun, we heartily welcome Toyota finally hitching its official vision and guidance to this enterprise.
It’s about damn time. Despite what they may say I am surprised it took them so long. This is about all that’s held me back from thinking about buying a new car, now all I have to do is wait for the money.
What’s really just sad about all this is the American Car companies had some time to develop a plug in hybrid and roll it out way in advance of Toyota. But like most things they got behind.
Instead, while the foreign car companies were investing and producing heavily in hybrids and related technologies, the American car companies were busy putting out press releases saying how terrible hybrids are, what a waste they are, and how un-environmentally friendly they are. Despite evidence against such assertions. Yes I know that last link is newer than the previous one, but just think about it logically…

Welcome to my blog! Topics tend to focus on Science and Technology, but I throw in personal stuff too. I hope you enjoy!
