Vaginas…

So last weekend my girlfriend took me to see the Vagina Monologues at our campus student center with another couple we are friends with. I have never seen this production before, nor have I ever heard anything about it. All I knew was that there was a production called the Vagina Monologues. To be truthful I had no idea what to expect (And no I didn’t have the typical male reaction of, “Wait, what did you say honey… VAGINA! Sure I’ll go!). I asked my girlfriend what it was about, and felt better about my ignorance when she had no idea. From talking to her about it I gathered it was an event where women get on stage and bitch about the male ego or the male in general. I though, “Hey I can handle that.”

To my surprise and delight the Vagina Monologues was nothing of what I expected. It was very entertaining, a wonderful production, and I would recommend anyone to go see it. The Vagina Monologues got started when a woman, Eve Ensler, decided she wanted to write a book about women’s sexuality, with real-life stories. And bring up issues that our society was scared to talk about before. I firmly believe this to be healthy considering the fact that in some states the sale of vibrators is outlawed, but assault rifles are still legal to purchase.

Vagina Monologues will not only move you with the stories of terrible atrocities of what some women are forced to go through, not just here in the United States but abroad as well, but it will also make you laugh hysterically. My friends, my girlfriend and I all enjoyed it immensly, and it was the start of a wonderful night.

Well I guess that’s all I got on vaginas right now (I will try to post pictures soon… not of Vaginas!!, pictures from the event) :) .
